Public spaces are the preferred terrain of photographer Fabian Stamm, in which he tries to track down political inscriptions and transfer them into his images. In his 15-part photographic poster work 'Chusha', which will be shown for two weeks in F4 format in the public space of the city of Winterthur (Exhibition 2022), Fabian Stamm follows photographically the everyday life of people in the Egyptian desert Sinai. These people lead consciously or partly forced life in the desert and try to escape from the Egyptian society.

Although the coastal region of the Red Sea inhabited by them is located directly on the sea, it is one of the driest of the Sinai Peninsula: rainfall usually occurs only once twice a year and temperatures rarely fall below 15 degrees Celsius at night. Here, people have built their 'chushas' - non-permanent housing structures. Fabian Stamm's photographs are a collection of traces, found objects, structures and portraits of people, in search of answers to the question of what defines a dwelling and what protection and shelter we need and want from our environment.
